Production method of rubber powder

The production methods of rubber powder are diverse, mainly divided into room temperature crushing method, low-temperature crushing method, and wet (or solution) crushing method:

Room temperature crushing method: using shear force to cut and crush waste rubber, generally divided into two processes: coarse crushing and fine crushing. The room temperature crushing method is the main method for producing rubber powder in the world, with good technical and economic efficiency.
Low temperature crushing method: using low temperature to make rubber brittle at the glass transition temperature, and then crushing it with mechanical force. According to the different freezing media used, it can be divided into liquid nitrogen low-temperature crushing method and air expansion refrigeration crushing method. The low-temperature crushing method can produce finer particle size rubber powder, but the cost is relatively high.
Wet (or solution) crushing method: Select a suitable liquid medium to make the rubber brittle, and then grind it on a colloid mill. According to its use of liquid medium, it can be divided into two types: water suspension crushing and solvent expansion crushing. Wet or solution methods are used to produce rubber powder with fine particle size and good application performance, but high production requirements require the use of a large amount of liquid medium.
